Question:
How can I get Gunmanger to display all my ammo for a firearm that is capable of firing more than one caliber of ammo?
Explanation:
When entering the ammo count of a shooting, Gunmanager software by default only shows available ammunition that matches the selected firearm.
For example when firing a Glock 19 no one wants to get all the 308 win ammo in stock displayed and available to select. All the 9mm ammo in stock will do just fine.
But what to do with a firearm that is capable of firing more than one caliber of ammunition? For example an AR-15 type rifle might be able to fire .223 Rem and 5.56 NATO.
Here is our solution:
Don’t use pre-defined .223 Rem or 5.56 NATO as caliber for the rifle but define your own caliber class, called for example: “5.56NATO/223 Rem” and select that for your AR-15
When entering new ammunition choose this ammo caliber if your ammunition is either .223 Rem or 5.56 NATO. The distinction can be made within the name – which in most cases is how the manufacturers name their ammo anyways. In our example we choose two different ammo products from Hornady, both with their caliber being part of their name.
Select ‘5.56NATO/223 Rem’ as caliber for both of them and both will show up as an ammo option to choose from when entering a shooting into your database with your AR-15 as the selected rifle.
